Results
This year NUS has decided to give us a big present for Xmas.... The FASS students would be getting our results over Xmas Eve, and Xmas day.
Of all the days in December, they have to give us our results on these days.....
I was very worried abt my results for these few days. I kept preparing myself mentally that i would get poor results. Of course, "poor" is always relative. My poor result could be a decent result for other ppl. But its my standard mah..... I juz hope to maintain my 2nd upper, and i dun want to regret not maintaining it.
But phew......i managed to maintain my CAP this sem. =)
1 last sem to go, and i going to the working world! *groan*
And when i step into the "actual" world, academic results are not going to mean anything. You will be accessed according to your performance and contributions, rather than how fast u can learn.
Some of the swaps ppl and me participated in a series of tests for a position in a govt organisation. The tests were tough to me, bec its not something that i have done before. I have absolutely no experience in doing those things (only know how to write psy reports =P), so i figured i did badly for the tests. No way am i going into the next rd, i tell myself.
And true enugh, i heard of some of my friends going to the next rd.
I been telling myself to remember this important lesson. No matter how glorious your academic results has been, it means absolutely nothing when you go out to work. I need to start from scratch and learn everything again.
A mentality change is required.
Similarly, i believe that past effort do not mean anything to future success. A couple who has been together for 10 years would still need to put in effort to maintain the r/s; a professor who has studied a topic for 10 years would still need to update himself and learn new things; a person who has close friends for 10 years would still need to call up his friends and maintain the friendship.
A not-so-alone walk
Recced the place yesterday.
For most of the time, I was walking alone by myself, away from the grp.
Wasn't in the mood to join them in their jokes and songs, though i found most of the songs familiar.
Felt the need to be alone by myself.
So I walked in front.
But compared to the walk alone after I sent them off at the bridge, the recce walk felt much more peaceful.
I guess its the comforting thought that there are ppl behind me, all the time.
The peace alone, with the others, is much more peaceful to me than the peace along, all by myself.
p.s. Thanks to LY who made an effort in trying to walk beside me, even though I wore my serious face.
My last packed hols
Haven't been updating my blog for a while.
Its not that i dun have anything to blog abt. I do.
Wanted to post some articles i read.
Wanted to jot down some of my thoughts abt stuff.
Wanted to write how i felt abt myself recently.
But, I am packed with stuff this hols. Hardly have any time for myself alone. For my free time, i tried to play games.... its like a way of proving to myself tt i do have some time for myself.
Thus, the thought of sitting at the computer and updating my blog is not my on my priority list.
I think Ruldoph would have known how my hols will be like when i agreed to help. And she would have advised me to think twice abt it, if i have consulted her.
But oh well..... I do feel for the camp.
And some of the organisers for the camp can be considered as my better friends.
My last hols..... packed with things not for myself.
